Bissap is a purple juice made from hibiscus flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa), mixed with water, sugar, some mint leaves and orange blossom.
500 g of Bissap
100 g of powdered sugar
3 sachets of vanilla sugar
2 tablespoonfuls of orange flower
1 pinch of grated nutmeg
A few mint leaves
- Rinse the bissap to remove the sand.
- Boil the bissap in 2 liters and a half of water until you obtain a red liquid
- Remove the leaves using a kitchen sieve in order to keep the juice
- Sugar and flavor with vanilla sugar, nutmeg and orange blossom
- Serve very cold
