Money and currency exchange

  • Currency Exchange

Senegal is among the 7 countries in the West African Economic and Monetary Union with a common currency called the CFA Franc. The currency is pegged to the Euro at a fixed parity rate of 655.957 FCFA per Euro.

There are currency exchange points at the airport, in some hotels and in most banks. You will need to present your passport for every transaction.

  • Credit cards

There are several banks across the country. And they all have ATMs. The hotels, restaurants and some shops in the capital city accept payments with credit cards.
