With more than 3,000 hours of sun lighting per year, Senegal is one of the most sun lighted countries in the world; a tropical weather one can enjoy all year long. On the Atlantic littoral, the easterlies blowing alongside the coast lower the temperatures. In Dakar, the average of maximum daytime temperatures is 24°C in April, May and December. From June to October, the temperatures can reach 30°C. In the South, the coldest period stretches from December to mid-February, with daytime averages revolving around 24°C.
Two seasons in Senegal:
- o A dry season starting in November and ending in May, with temperatures reaching between 22°C and 30°C;
- o A rainy season between June and October, with more rains in the South.
